After she sold her property to help renovate her husband's, she was being asked by him to give up $200k from the sale to her in-laws. Then, he decided maybe it's best if they pay his parents even more, which is making his wife extremely uncomfortable.

AITAH because I don’t agree that in-laws monetary gift equates to them owning 20% of our home.

Husband convinces wife to sell her property after moving into his house, then demands she give $200k from the sale to his parents, she puts her foot down: ‘This is all very weird’
When you're in a long-term committed relationship, you would give up a lot for the person you love. Being able to compromise is one of the most foundational things to a relationship, and without it, most relationships tend to crumble.
It starts with the small stuff. Compromising on who does the dishes and who does the groceries. Then it moves on to more touchy subjects, like with whose family you will be spending next Christmas. And finally, it leads to big decisions that require the most compromise, like when you finally decide to buy a house together, or maybe even expand your family.
That being said, as much as it is important to know when to take a step back for the sake of your partner, it is also important to know when you should stand firm for your own sake. No one should give up on everything for someone else, and it is highly important to recognise when you are being exploited or being treated unfairly.
